PJ & Sarah : Wedding Highlights, Roaring Gap, NC

PJ & Sarah,

Thanks, friends, for giving us a clear glimpse into your life together through this process. You inspire us in how you care for one another and how much you value tradition and your families. Sarah, after getting to know you, it makes complete sense that you’d wear your  mother’s dress, and celebrate your wedding in Roaring Gap, where your family enjoyed summers together and where your relationship with PJ grew. PJ, you blew us away with the thoughtfulness of your toast on your wedding night. Indeed, life has evolved for you two from the days when you met at Princeton. It makes us smile and nod when we heard you claim that the happiest time of your life is right now. When we see you guys together, we have no doubt about it!

Andrew & Allison : Wedding Highlights, Milwaukee, WI

Allison & Andrew,
Thanks for introducing us to Milwaukee! We loved it (especially your city’s beer!). Your families are filled with joy, and we adored the familial aspect of your wedding so much. The support and admiration your family has for you two is very palpable and we hope we captured their love and joy, as well as yours, in your films.  We think you two are super, and we know that you will continue to have awesome adventures together, whether it be exploring your neighborhood in Boston, skiing in Colorado or enjoying another trip abroad. Keep smiling and taking care of each other! We’re so glad we got to know you guys!

Jerel & Tonya : Wedding Highlights, Durham, NC

Jerel & Tonya,
The two of you, and your kind families, were a pleasure to get to know! Thank you for giving us the honor of spending your wedding day capturing these memories for you. We’ve returned to your film time and again to listen to the words of your officiant on your wedding day. His message helps to remind us of why we do what we do, and serves as inspiration in our own marriage. We hope you’ll return to his words over and over again too! We know there are many bright days ahead for you and thank you again for allowing us to be part of one of the brightest days in your relationship.

The Henry Family : one week in Maine

As we left Durham driving North on I-85, Philip and I made a decision to make our trip to Maine sans Twitter & Instagram. I enjoy both forms of social media but too often lately I’ve caught myself staring at my iPhone rather than at the family/landscape/moment right in front of me. I didn’t want to be “that mom”,  so I put the iPhone away (well, almost!) for the duration of our trip and aimed at experiencing fall in Maine with my beloved family. Here are a few special moments from our trip to Maine:

Meredith - What a fun week! My favorite is the first one of Pax smiling, but of course I love it when Charlie makes an appearance on the blog!

Em - Just beautiful!

Brandon & Kelsey : Wedding Highlights, Raleigh, NC

Kelsey & Brandon,
You two. We think you’re pretty darn awesome and have loved being a part of your wedding plans and sharing the big day with you this summer. Thank you, honestly, for making us feel so welcome and for your enthusiasm for our work. Thanks for sharing yummy Guglhupf desserts with us (even though you both ordered WAY better than I did that night) and for bringing your personality and values (ok, and bourbon appreciation!) into your wedding day for us to capture. I love watching your “first look” footage from this film. I hope you look at each other with that much love for years to come! -m + p

Kellie Kano : branding film

Have you met Kellie Kano? If you have, you know that she has this radiance that just lights up any room. It’s cool because it’s so genuine, and we can only hope it comes across in this branding film we produced for her new site launch: www.kelliekano.com (check out those beautiful scrolling images!). We aimed to show the “Kellie Kano experience”: the long-lasting friendships that develop between K and her clients is real and the comfort is felt from the moment you walk into her Revolution Mill studio. Kellie is also one of the more adventurous photographers we’ve worked with! During our initial production meeting Kellie asked: “So, how do you feel about shooting in a swamp”? We showed up ready to get wet (although not donning nearly as cute of wellies)! The result: some perfectly lit images/footage and an awesome on-the-job memory. Thanks to Michelle & Ryan for braving the bog and for being so incredibly photogenic and easy.

We’re so grateful that this process has resulted in a new friendship. Kellie is an extremely thoughtful pal and I (MacKenzie) have been inspired by the way Kellie balances being such a great wife, mom, creative photographer, and business owner. K, thanks for trusting us to capture your genuine spirit in this film. We’re already looking forward to the next time we get to work together!

Teddy - Just wanted to say I’ve been admiring your work for a while, and wanted to give you props. Nice work Inkspot Crow!

Jennifer Allison - ‎Kellie Kano’s work is incredible. I’d love to hire her when I need special photos. From looking at her work, she brings out the beauty in people & captures the most sincere moments. Her vision is genius.

admin - Thanks Em! We think she’s the bees knees and loved how she found perfectly light for us to shoot that day!

Emily @ Southern Weddings - Just beautiful! Love Kellie and LOVE this film!
