What a great way to start our work week! Annie + Gus’s wedding is featured on Ruffled today and we’re over-the-moon about it! We’ve been long-time fans of this blog; Ruffled’s founder and editor, Amanda, curates some of the most fantastically quirky and creative celebrations to share with her readers. No doubt Annie + Gus would be featured here too! Big thanks to our pals, Brett & Jessica for sharing their awesome photos! Watch their film on Ruffled  HERE! And check out the sister-post with all of the great photos and Annie’s comments HERE!

Andy & Kristen : Wedding Highlights, Bald Head Island

Kristen + Andy are those people you meet once and you just know that if you lived in the same city, you’d be best friends. We clicked as soon as we got to know them via email, and then over coffee a year ago when they were visiting NC with Kristen’s sweet mom, planning their wedding. I was anticipating their Bald Head Island wedding along with them, and I reveled in the long emails Kristen and I would exchange when she’d fill me in on their lives and I’d share news about our business or my pregnancy. We quickly realized that filming their wedding would be capturing the marriage of two friends, and felt so lucky to be in that role.

Months later, it’s K+A’s wedding weekend and our arrival on Bald Head. In between their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner Andy + Kristen made a quick trip by our cottage to meet Pax, welcome us to the island and share some fun Ohio gifts. On THEIR big weekend, they were thinking about us. And that’s just the type of people they are. It’s why we think they are so swell!

Kristen + Andy,
Thanks for being our pals from afar, for cheering us on as our business has grown, and for sharing life with us. We are moved by the words you shared with each other on your wedding day and inspired by the way you look at each other and the respect you have for one another. Thanks for being great role models for us! And if you decide to make a move to NC, we’ll be your first best friends!

Wedding Highlights : John & Emily, Connecticut

We’ve known Emily longer than most brides we get to work with. First, we knew her by reputation (Em is a dear friend of my sister’s and the Creative Director of our favorite wedding magazine and blog, Southern Weddings).  Then we got to capture her at work HERE. Over time, we’ve come to have a tremendous amount of respect for Emily’s creativity, poise, and leadership in our industry.  So even before meeting John we knew he must be incredibly special to have matched with a gal as great as Em. Our hunch proved correct, and as John’s best man will eloquently point out in this film, the effect of their greatness is multiplied when they are together. We first got to know John over breakfast at Fosters in Durham, and a chat about hiking (namely his awesome blog, John Takes A Hike), music choices, babies (ours, not theirs) and their relocation to the South. Meeting their families in Connecticut this September solidified our admiration for our new friends; we are now officially big “John & Emily” fans, like so many others we met at their wedding!

John + Emily,
Thank you for allowing us into your lives and choosing us to capture such beauty (you truly planned an awesome event!) and important moments. We are inspired by your faith, your ability to evolve individually and as a couple over so many years together, and the joy you two bring to those who know you. We’ll look forward to some fun together in the (near!) future!

Emily kindly shared their over-the-moon excitement for their wedding film on her own blog, Em is For Marvelous.

Featured : Weddings Unveiled Magazine

We were quite excited when we heard Kendall & Patrick’s Highlands wedding photos would be featured in the latest issue of Weddings Unveiled. If you haven’t picked up a copy of this issue yet, you should run and do it now! Genya, of Vue Photography, provided the magazine with a ton of great images from this wedding, and we were so happy to see such a large spread dedicated to two fantastic people!  Thank you, dear WU editors, for sharing this wonderful story with your readers! From the Porch Swing : Happy Halloween 2012

So, last year we shared this fun Halloween surprise from our porch swing.  Nothing quite as exciting on the swing for Halloween 2012, but we wanted to share a few family photos nonetheless. Enjoy the festivities tonight!

admin - Thanks Allie! And don’t you worry; some sweet footage of Owen the Dancing Baby is coming in a highlights film VERY soon!

Allie - Pax is so cute! I still wish I would’ve known he was on Bald Head-He could’ve hung out with Owen the dancing baby, plus I want to hug the little squish dude!!

[email protected] - Same porch, same swing, same baby, but even cuter this year! Happy Halloween!

Annie - Guys that baby is amazing! Look at him, not even as big as a pumpkin but still totes adorbs. Have a fabulous first Halloween with Pax :)
