Tim & Cate : Wedding Highlights, Washington D.C.

On an overwhelmingly gorgeous fall day in October, Cate & Tim joined their close friends and family to celebrate their marriage at the iconic St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C. Guests enjoyed cookie and wine pairings courtesy of Cookies & Corks, before the couple, looking absolutely glamorous in their wedding attire, exchanged hand-written vows as the sun set over the terrace. The details of the day were impeccable, but what truly caught our attention was the thoughtful words the couple shared with one another during their ceremony. Filled with candor, hope and promise, their vows represented their genuine commitment to one another, just as wedding vows should. We were so moved by their words that we included many of their vows in this highlights film.

For  Cate and Tim, no celebration would be complete without a celebratory meal and wine shared with friends and family. Guests enjoyed a five-course culinary experience at Adour, St. Regis’ luxurious French restaurant, which holds a special place in the couples’ life together: it’s where Tim proposed to Cate!

To Cate: We’ve been friends for a looong time, lady! It fills my heart with so much joy to see you beaming with love for Tim and the boys. He is SO LUCKY to have captured your heart, and we are truly thrilled to watch you grow together. Tim: what  a treat it’s been to get to know you over the last several months. I have no doubt in my heart that you two will be loving companions to each other, and beautiful role models for your boys.  Thank you both for allowing us to share in your special day.

Reality Ministries : Voices of Reality

Last year we introduced you to Reality Ministries with this film: Reality Ministries : a story in five acts. This year, Jeff and his outstanding team hoped to share an in-depth look at Reality through the words of its participants, founders, volunteers, and staff. Our personal awareness of Reality Ministries’ reach in the community has grown since last year as well. Philip and I spend one afternoon each week at Reality, volunteering as tutors for middle and high school students from Durham School of the Arts. We relish this time to connect with Durham’s youth, and truly feel more energized and connected with God’s Kingdom when we walk through their doors.

Highlight of filming at Reality this year: dance class with Real Friends on Thursdays! Their joy and reckless-abandon while dancing is truly inspirational!

To find out more about what Reality Ministries is doing in our community, and how you can support or get involved, please visit their website: www.realityministries.org or call Julie at 919-688-7776.

Behind the Scenes : Southern Weddings Photo Shoot with Joey + Jessica

First, if you haven’t picked up the latest copy of Southern Weddings magazine, you are in for a treat! The hard work that went into planning and creating this issue is evident on each and every page of loveliness. This summer we were lucky enough to tag along with SW Art Director, Emily Ayer, and her team from Southern Weddings magazine as they worked with dynamic duo Joey + Jessica to create the ‘Paper, Cotton, and Flour‘ shoot.

I hope it’s evident from this BTS film just how hard this crew of creatives worked  to create the shots you see in your magazine! I also hope we captured the fun and festivity of the day, to which there was plenty! Big thanks to Joey + Jessica for bringing the tunes to keep us going through the day. In fact, at one point in the shoot, the RJD2 song we’ve used in this film was playing on Joey’s iPod. Thanks for the inspiration!

Now, go grab your favorite warm drink, cozy up on the couch and turn to page 136 in your latest Southern Weddings magazine. I guarantee you’ll enjoy the Southern inspiration that Joey + Jessica captured so beautifully!

Chad & Katie : Wedding Highlights, Raleigh, NC

We truly loved getting to know Katie & Chad. These two are such warm, affirming people and are a perfect match! We got to know them over beers at City Beverage and then later when they welcomed us into their home to film the Documentary About Love that Chad arranged for Katie’s birthday.

So, it was no surprise that their families were just as warm and affirming when we met them at the wedding last month. We’re so glad to be part of wedding days as meaningful as this one. This couple and their families know how to have FUN! From the trolley ride through downtown Raleigh, to the cocktail entertainment from Duke Rhythm & Blues, to the festive dance floor, this wedding day was packed to the brim with fantastic details and tons of smiles!

Katie & Chad, we have no doubt you will have such a happy life together. Thank you for including us in your wedding celebrations and we look forward to documenting more of your life together as the years go by!

One Year : so grateful!

One year ago this week we posted the first Inkspot Crow Film to our blog. The year that followed has been a whirlwind of fun and creativity, of which we are extremely grateful. We have so many loving  friends, family and fans who have supported us as we’ve grown our family business. We couldn’t have done it without your encouragement and enthusiasm. For those who took a chance on hiring us during this first year, we thank you. Our hearts are filled with gratitude! We have amazing clients!

Last night, as we drove up the driveway after a fantastic weekend of filming in the mountains, we saw the box of magazines from Southern Weddings sitting on our front porch! Giddy, together we flipped through the magazine until we found it: our first national advertisement! We are humbled to be sharing the pages with some of the best wedding creatives in the business. To the lovely ladies of Southern Weddings Magazine:  you did it again! This issue is packed with gorgeous features, creative weddings, and inspiring ideas. Thank you for creating a product we are SO PROUD to be a part of!
