Well it’s no secret we love New England! More specifically, we’re quite smitten with Maine. We just returned from three lovely weeks in the great state, and while we loved coming back to our home and friends in North Carolina, you can’t beat Maine in the summer time.
You may recall this video we made last year, to showcase our family’s farm: Marianmade Farm, in Wiscasset. Quite simply, Marianmade Farm is a working lavender and flower farm in mid-coast Maine. Every year the farm hosts a select number of weddings in the Lavender Drying House and at the waterfront ceremony site. It’s gorgeous and anyone that knows my mom’s vision and energy is not surprised when they see how breathtaking the farm truly is.
As you can imagine, with a successful farm and wedding venue comes tons of work! Next spring our family will be moving to Wiscasset to join my mom in working on her farm through the summer and fall months. In addition to helping in the fields and gardens, MacKenzie will be the Venue Manager. We are so excited for the opportunity to join in a growing family business, spend our summer and fall with our kids in New England, and help my mom with a work load too great for any one person (even one woman as dynamic as she!).
What will happen to Inkspot Crow Films, you might ask? Well, you see, we just love filming in New England (you may recall this wedding , or this one, or this gem from Nantucket) and will continue to work primarily in that region during the summer and fall months. Philip will be working with a second shooter and will continue to edit our films (with the help of our trusty sidekick Melissa), so while the view from our studio window may look quite different, our work will remain very much the same.
There you have it! Fun news from the Henry family. I urge you to check out the Marianmade Farm online, and if you find yourself in Maine next year, we’d love to have you to the farm!
