It may seem odd that I’m writing a blog post for a wedding I never attended. While Philip and Ryan were hard at work filming Kendall & Patrick’s wedding weekend, I stayed on the couch (literally) waiting for Pax’s arrival and praying he would hold off until his dad made the 6 hour trip home from Highlands. Philip continued to send photos and post Instagrams of the weekend’s festivities: the unique vintage details, Kendall’s gorgeous dress, the gospel choir, his view from the mountaintop ceremony etc. So, when he came home with the footage I was prepared to see a glamorous wedding, filled with tons of dramatic details and cinematic landscapes. Philip, however, was way more excited about the couple themselves. And after watching the footage of the toasts that their friends and family dedicated to Kendall & Patrick, it was easy to see why.
What became apparent in watching the myriad of rehearsal dinner toasts was the impact K+P have made on so many throughout their lives! It’s easy to look at Kendall and see a beautiful woman, or Patrick, and see “hot Patrick”, but those closest to them told about their inner beauty, their zeal, their dedication, their humor and their thoughtfulness. The footage Philip came home with (and eventually wove into this highlights film) was WAY better than I’d imagined. It wasn’t just beautiful; it was personal!
K+P: Wow. We feel like we’ve come to know you closely over the last year, first in New Orleans and even further during the trip to Highlands for your wedding. We’ll have to keep thinking of events/milestones to film for your family! Thank you for trusting us to document such personal and celebratory moments in your life; we’re very grateful!
